The Lessons of the Snow Moon...
The last couple of weeks we’ve talked about facing our shadows, finding comfort in familiar discomfort, and the importance of facing this as part of our healing and growth journey.
As I write this it is the day of the Virgo Full Moon, the Snow Moon, the last moon of Winter which often brings with it a couple of cold days. (So for those of you with me in Leeds… yes we’re blaming the moon for the sudden ice cold days. Though they have been beautifully sunny!)
I don’t often write about the moon, however, it has come at a time that seems to perfectly round off the themes we’ve explored in the last few weeks…
The snow moon invites us to sit with our pain and give ourselves some compassion.
To then begin the healing process of letting go of our past limitations, our shadows, our uncomfortable familiar patterns.
And to move forward finding a balance of logic and intuition, of conscious control and surrender.
As a Virgo I am so familiar with the traits of the perfectionist and the desire to maintain control. The virgo moon asks us to let go of perfectionism and to live life, rather than control life, in all its messy beautiful chaos.
Of course, this work is not easy. To sit in our pain, then let it go, all while relinquishing control. But the reward on the other side is blissful, empowering, and so freeing.
So, let’s step into the unfamiliar together and walk forward into brighter, sunnier days.
"The familiar feels safe, that is until we teach ourselves that discomfort is temporary and a necessary part of transformation." – Dr Nicole Lepera
